Raw RC Speedway – Speed Fest
It’s outdoor season! Made the 22 minute trip to Elwood, Indiana to Raw RC Speedway for their season opener race Speed Fest! Pitting under the Carpys Designed Wildthing / Exalt Tents, got to work early putting the outdoor set ups to work in practice. Only running 2 classes to make sure I could support other racers! Outlaw Late Model and SC Mod.
Outlaw Late Model – I chose to run a Team GFRP 21+4 Assailant. Powered by Exalt Electronics, we all the power we needed! I started on JConcepts Green Sprinters but was 3 tenths off the pace of Malicoat. I would qualify P2 in the A Main. I made a tire change that was a bad call where I would finish P4.
SC Mod – I ran a Team GFRP 2024 Prodigy. I was on DE Grooves to get some data for The Elite Series Race stop at this track later this year. Out of the gate the car was amazing and fast. Prepped another set of tires, and set them aside. I would set the fastest lap of the day in my first heat where I would set the TQ pace and keep it locking in P1 for the A Main. Threw a gear change at the car to be conservative in the Main, the car was still a rocket. Clean racing, great etiquette, coasted to the A Main win!
Next weekend I will travel to Ionia, Michigan not the KRATER for the Michigan vs Indiana series! And the following weekend at 5 Star in Plymouth, Indiana for the 2nd part of the Indiana vs Michigan Series. New wraps are on the way for outdoor season, so I’ll be looking good in the pits and on the podiums near you! Squad Up!
