This past weekend, Wildthing Racing’s TJ Greer, a brand influencer for Carpy’s, competed in the Freedom 50 at Raw RC Raceway, presented by Whitz Racing Products. With the track offering a bit more character than previous races, TJ embraced the challenge, delivering a performance that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Outlaw Late Model:
The Outlaw Late Model was off to a strong start, but a few adjustments were needed to get it just right. After modifying the bump and making key body adjustments, TJ managed to secure P3 in the A Main. Although not exactly where the car needed to be, it was a solid first day on the track. TJ remains optimistic, calling it a work in progress and looking forward to continued improvements.
SC Mod:
The Short Course Modified was the star of the day. TJ ran 10 practice laps, and it was clear that the SC Mod was an absolute missile. Even after a brief second practice, TJ couldn’t resist pushing the car to its limits. In Qualifying, TJ posted a solid TQ pace despite a setback when a battery cell was lost. But with a new battery in round two, TJ powered through to retain TQ.
The A Main saw TJ starting on the pole, making strategic decisions like dialing down the power by 10%. Unfortunately, traffic proved a challenge, and TJ surrendered the lead to Lindlag, finishing P2. Nonetheless, it was the cleanest race of the day, and TJ took pride in the performance, cementing Wildthing Racing’s reputation for sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
