Race Weekend Recap (Firecracker Classic 2025)

Hey everyone! We just got back from an epic weekend at NORCAR for the 14th annual Firecracker Classic. This is the biggest indoor carpet oval race of the summer, with over 190 entries, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We got to hang out with some big-name drivers like Jared Barden, Frank Mertz, Nick Ellis, and a whole bunch of other talented folks.

We rolled in on Friday morning, got some practice in, and kicked off our first qualifier. We had a bit of a challenge finding speed in the rubber tire truck, but our Losi NASCAR was flying! We had a bit of a mix-up in the first round, but by Saturday morning, we found our groove and even put the truck in the A-Main, starting in sixth place. In the Losi NASCAR class, I managed to snag TQ by less than a tenth of a second over my dad, Jeff, which was super exciting!

The mains were a wild ride. I ended up getting taken out in the truck race thanks to a wreck in front of us that broke the front end, but hey, that’s racing!

In the Losi NASCAR main, I started first, but got taken out on lap two. I fought my way back through the field and ended up finishing second behind Jeff. It was such a blast, and we had so many laughs, especially joking around with Wayne’s mom and just enjoying the weekend. Can’t wait for the next one!
